Find your competitors’ customers in Claude with anVendor

Add anVendor's plugin and connector to Claude, then ask who uses a competitor, check accounts for a vendor or review a company's services in chat.

anVendor is now in Claude's directory, as a connector and as a plugin. Ask Claude who uses a competing SaaS product or business service, which of your accounts use a vendor, or which services a company uses. Claude calls anVendor and answers with dated findings, estimated adoption and estimated annual spend, including usage that website scanners cannot see.

Open the anVendor connector or add the anVendor plugin in Claude.

Add the plugin → connect your anVendor account → ask in plain language → approve paid checks.

What the connector and the plugin do

The connector is anVendor's MCP server, https://api.anvendor.com/mcp. It gives Claude anVendor's tools: discover companies that use a service, check one service across a list of companies, analyze a company and read your credit balance.

The plugin packages the connector with three skills. Each skill teaches Claude one workflow: which tool to call, when to show a cost quote and how to describe what a result means. The plugin works in Claude chat, Cowork and Claude Code.

SkillAsk ClaudeWhat happens
find-competitor-customers“Who uses HubSpot among software companies in Germany?”Discovers companies for the service with location, industry and size filters, then checks the ones you pick.
check-accounts-for-vendor“Which of these 200 accounts use Zendesk?”Quotes the cost, runs the check after you approve it and reports detected, not detected and failed companies separately.
analyze-company-stack“What SaaS does vercel.com use?”Lists the company's services by category, with estimated adoption and annual spend.

The connector also works on its own. The plugin adds the workflows on top, so Claude applies your filters correctly, presents results consistently and explains their limits.

Add anVendor to Claude

  1. Create an anVendor account at anvendor.com/get-started. The Free plan includes 20 credits every 30 days.
  2. Add the plugin. Open the anVendor plugin in Claude, or go to Customize → Plugins → Discover, search for anVendor and select Add. Plugins from the directory are available on Claude Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans.
  3. Connect your anVendor account. On the plugin's Connectors tab, connect anVendor. You can also open the connector listing and select Connect to Claude. Sign in to anVendor with email and password, Google or LinkedIn, choose what Claude may use (company analysis, scans, lead discovery), set a credit budget for the connection and allow it. The default budget is 50 credits a month. There is no API key to copy.
  4. Ask a question like the examples below. If Claude doesn't use anVendor, check that the connector is on under + → Connectors in the chat. Claude may ask you to allow a tool the first time it uses it.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an organization Owner adds the connector for the organization, and each member connects their own anVendor account.

In Claude Code. Sign in to Claude Code with the same Claude subscription account and the plugin arrives as a synced plugin at the next session start; run /reload-plugins to load it in an open session. Connectors you added on claude.ai are available there too. To connect with an anVendor API key instead, create one under API access and run:

claude mcp add --transport http anvendor https://api.anvendor.com/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer avk_…"

The plugin's source is public on GitHub.

1. Find a competitor's customers

Find software companies in Germany with 50–200 employees that use HubSpot.

Claude matches “Germany” to a supported location, picks the industry and company-size filters and discovers companies. Discovering companies is free. You get a table with each company's domain, location, industry, finding and last detection date, with companies already found using the service listed first.

The table can also include companies that match your filters but have not been checked for this service yet. They are candidates, not detected customers. Ask Claude to check the promising ones: it tells you the cost first, and detected companies come back with estimated adoption and annual spend where available. Ask for the next page when you want more companies.

2. Check your account list for a vendor

Which of these companies use Slack: stripe.com, notion.so, linear.app, figma.com?

Paste domains or company names, up to 10,000 in one check, or attach an export from your CRM. Before checking more than one company, Claude shows a quote: how many companies are in the run, how many answers are free, the most the run can charge and how many companies your balance covers. The check starts only after you approve it.

Checks run in the background. Claude checks back for the results, or gives you the scan ID so you can ask about it later. The report lists detected, not detected and failed companies separately. A failed check has no verdict, so Claude offers to retry it rather than count it as “not detected”.

3. Analyze a company before a call

What SaaS tools does vercel.com use, and roughly how much does it spend on them?

Claude analyzes the company and groups its services by category, each with estimated adoption and an estimated annual spend range, and shows the date of the data. A new analysis usually takes five to ten minutes, longer for a large company. If your account already holds a fresh result for the company, Claude returns it at once at no extra charge. A refresh is a new paid check, so Claude starts one only when you ask.

Credits, budget and control

  • Discovering companies is free.
  • Checking whether a company uses a service costs 1 credit, refunded when the service is not found. A company checked within the last 30 days and not found is answered free, and so is a result your account already holds.
  • Analyzing a company costs 1 credit, refunded when nothing is found.
  • Batch checks wait for you. Before checking more than one company, Claude shows a quote and waits for your approval.
  • The connection has its own budget. Claude can't spend more than the budget you set or the credits you hold. Change the budget or disconnect Claude at any time under API access. Every charge appears on your billing page, labelled with the connection that made it.

These are the same credits and prices as in the anVendor app; see Pricing.

What the results mean

A detection shows that a company uses the vendor. It is not proof of a paid contract, buying intent or willingness to switch, and “not detected” does not prove that a company doesn't use a service. Adoption and spend are estimates: spend ranges are annual figures in USD based on vendor plan pricing, not invoices.

anVendor is not a contact database. Its results are company-level facts, and it cannot send outreach. Claude can do the rest of the research in the same conversation: company news, published customer stories and a draft for the first call. Our test of an AI research agent shows why the two work better together.

Data and privacy

The plugin runs nothing on your computer and stores nothing itself. When Claude calls an anVendor tool, it sends the tool's inputs to api.anvendor.com: service names or domains, the companies you ask about and any location, industry or size filters. anVendor keeps these requests and their results in your account history, as it does for work on the website. Sign-in uses OAuth with anvendor.com, so Claude receives an access token limited to the methods you allowed, never your password. See the Privacy Policy.
